OKJ
The grand finale for the OKJ class kicked off with a fiercely contested qualifying session. Aleksander Praizovic clinched pole position by the slimmest of margins in a session where the top five were covered by just over three-tenths of a second. The stage was set for an intense showdown.
In Race 1, William Marshall put on a masterclass, showcasing his skill and experience to take the win. Early on, it looked like Onwabile Mcinga would secure second place, but a five-second nose cone penalty dashed his hopes, dropping him down the order. This opened the door for pole-sitter Praizovic, who capitalized to claim P2 after a tense battle, holding off a charging Rayan Karriem who took third.
Race 2 was another nail-biter. Marshall once again took the top spot, but not without intense pressure from Karriem. The two traded fast laps, with Karriem surging forward but ultimately falling just short as Marshall held firm for the win. Title leader Manelisi Nkomo crossed the line in third, keeping a watchful eye on the championship implications.
The final race saw Marshall complete a stunning hat-trick, but victory didn’t come easily. Karriem pushed him all the way to the line, determined to steal a win. However, a ten-second jump start penalty for Karriem altered the final standings, promoting Praizovic to a comfortable second place and moving Mcinga up to third. Despite the setback, Karriem’s pace was undeniable, marking him as a driver to watch.
When the dust settled, William Marshall stood atop the podium with three wins to his name—a flawless performance on the day. Karriem’s relentless efforts earned him second overall, while Praizovic’s consistent form secured him third place on the podium.
In the 2024 championship standings, despite Praizovic’s strong showing, it wasn’t enough to overtake the ever-consistent Manelisi Nkomo, who clinched the OKJ title. Praizovic settled for a commendable runner-up spot, with Mcinga’s perseverance throughout the season earning him third in the championship.
As OKJ bid farewell to an exhilarating season, the drivers have set a high bar for competitiveness heading into the next year.

SENIOR MAX
Senior Max lined up for the final showdown of the 2024 season as Charl Visser, ever the maestro, secured pole position in qualifying, setting the stage for yet another masterclass.
In Race 1, Visser delivered a flawless performance, cruising to a comfortable win and leaving the pack to battle for the remaining podium spots. The fight behind him was anything but settled, with Luca Wehrli showcasing his grit to emerge in P2 after a fierce contest. Hot on his heels, a tenacious Ethan Deacon claimed third.
Race 2 saw Wehrli refuse to back down. Leading out from the start, he pushed Visser to the limit, demonstrating just how far he has come this season. Visser, drawing on his wealth of experience, made a decisive move to take the lead and secured a narrow victory. Wehrli crossed the line in a strong second place, while Tate Bishop, making his mark once again, fought hard to clinch third.
The final race was the crowning moment for Visser, who completed a hat-trick of wins to seal his dominance. Deacon delivered an outstanding drive to finish second as Bishop rounded out the podium in third, showcasing the depth of talent in this field. Unfortunately, Wehrli and the returning Cole Hewetson faced early retirements after running at the sharp end, a tough break in an otherwise thrilling day.
When the overall results were tallied, it was the perfect end to an almost flawless regional karting season for Charl Visser. His victory not only marked another overall win but also solidified his reputation as the benchmark in the Senior Max class. Deacon’s consistent pace and determination earned him a delighted second place for the day, while Wehrli’s earlier efforts secured him third on the podium.

DD2 & DD2 MASTERS
The grand finale of the 2024 season saw the DD2 and DD2 Masters classes deliver high-octane drama at every turn. With series leader Joseph Oelz absent from the grid, Jason Coetzee seized the opportunity with both hands. He secured pole position in DD2, while in the Masters category, Jared Jordan clinched pole narrowly over an impressive Neville Chapman, with title contender Conor Hughes starting third.
In Race 1, Coetzee took command in DD2, leading from the front as a fierce battle for second unfolded behind him. Matthew Wadeley and Ethan Stier went wheel-to-wheel, trading places in a thrilling duel. Wadeley ultimately edged out Stier to claim P2. In the Masters class, Conor Hughes ignited his title challenge with a superb win. He crossed the line ahead of a determined Jonathan Wiehan and the veteran Johan Hamman, capitalizing on a stroke of misfortune for Jordan, who suffered a DNF.
The stakes ramped up in Race 2. Coetzee continued his dominant form, notching his second win of the day. Wadeley and Stier resumed their heated rivalry, with Wadeley once again securing second place and Stier close behind in third. The Masters race took a dramatic turn as Hughes was involved in an incident that impacted his race. Demonstrating remarkable grit, he continued despite the setback. Neville Chapman seized the moment to take his first Masters win, with Wiehan delivering a strong performance to finish second. Jordan, overcoming earlier challenges, secured third place despite being a lap down.
The decisive Race 3 saw Coetzee complete a flawless hat-trick, reaffirming his status at the top of DD2 for the day. Stier delivered an impressive drive to claim second place, while Wadeley rounded out the podium in third. In the Masters category, Jordan bounced back brilliantly to secure the win, effectively sealing the 2024 DD2 Masters Championship. Chapman maintained his strong form to take second, with Wiehan once again showcasing his consistency by finishing third. Unfortunately, Hughes was unable to start the final race due to the earlier incident.
Jason Coetzee stood atop the DD2 podium, celebrating another regional victory. Wadeley’s consistent pace and determination earned him second overall for the day, while Stier’s relentless efforts were rewarded with third place. In the Masters class, it was Wiehan who emerged as the surprise overall winner, keeping it clean and steady throughout to capitalize on the day’s unfolding events. Chapman took a well-deserved second place, and newly crowned Masters Champion Jared Jordan completed the podium in third.
In the final championship standings, despite his absence in the concluding round, Joseph Oelz secured the DD2 title, a testament to his dominant performances earlier in the season. Wadeley clinched the runner-up spot, capping off a strong and consistent year, while Stier’s persistent efforts throughout the season earned him third place overall.
